Privacy policy
Last updated: April 11, 2026
This policy describes how Auorum("we", "us") handles personal information when you use our website, our browser extension, and the service overall. The extension is part of the same product: it saves bookmarks to your account and can import bookmarks you explicitly choose (for example, Chrome bookmarks or X bookmarks capture that you start in the extension). Information from the extension is covered by the same practices below as the rest of the service. It is meant to be clear and practical; it is not legal advice. If you need specifics for your organization, consult qualified counsel.
What we collect
Account data. When you register, we collect information you provide (such as email and name) and data needed to operate authentication (for example session tokens and verification status). The optional browser extension uses the same sign-in as the website and may read session cookies for our domain so it can confirm you are logged in and call our APIs—similar to how the site keeps you signed in.
Content you save. Bookmarks, titles, URLs, notes, collection names, files you attach to bookmarks (on supported plans), and similar data you choose to store in the service.
Billing data. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by our payment provider. We receive limited billing metadata (such as subscription status and identifiers) rather than your full card number on our own servers.
Technical data. Like most web services, we may process IP address, browser type, timestamps, and diagnostic logs to keep the service secure and reliable.
Optional X bookmarks import via extension. If you use the extension's X bookmarks feature and explicitly press Start, the extension reads bookmark timeline responses on x.com/i/bookmarks to extract bookmark links and title text for items you scroll into view. That capture is off by default, stops when you press Stop, and is limited to the X bookmarks route. Captured items are stored locally in extension storage and sent to our API only to import into your Auorum account (including optional folder-to-collection mapping).
How we use information
To provide, maintain, and improve Auorum.
To authenticate you, sync your data across devices, and respond to support requests.
To process payments and communicate about billing or important service changes.
To detect abuse, fraud, and technical issues.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run the product: for example with hosting providers, payment processors, and email delivery services, under agreements that require them to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
We do not sell or broker extension-captured bookmark data. Data imported from X bookmarks is used only for your requested import into your Auorum workspace and normal service operation.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us; some information may be retained where the law requires.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at shawndsilva.mail@gmail.com and we will respond in line with applicable law.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
